Overview:

Dusty and Kim Price own a horse and tack supply store in Levelland, Texas. They were looking for a way to sell more of their product to a wider audience. They decided that an online store was worth looking into. With no website or online sale experience, Dusty and Kim contacted us to discuss ecommerce software solutions and online marketing options.

The Process:

After weighing their needs and the available ecommerce options, we suggested they use Magento Open Source Ecommerce Software. We were able to provide them with a professional ecommerce solution that included more useful user and administration features than most other ecommerce solutions at a much more practical cost. Some of those features include:

  • Content Management System for Informational Pages - Polls and Newsletter Management
  • Reports for purchases, search terms, low stock, product reviews - Integrated with Google Analytics
  • 100% Search Engine Friendly - Google Site Map - Search Engine Friendly URL’s
  • URL Rewrites give full control of URL’s - Landing Page Tool for Campaigns
  • Up-sells in Shopping Cart - Cross-sells on product pages - Free Shipping Options
  • Send to a Friend for all visitors, or registered users - Send Wishlist to a Friend by Email or RSS
  • Multi-Tier Pricing for quantity discounts - Accept gift messages per order and per item
  • Integrated for real-time shipping rates from: UPS, UPS XML, FedEx, USPS and DHL
  • Integrated with Amazon Payments, multiple PayPal gateways and Authorize.net

After deciding on an ecommerce platform it was time to build the site. We found that it would be less time consuming to have the client fill out a spreadsheet of product categories and subcategory and have us import that rather than build it through the administration panel. We then trained them at their location on how to edit photos, insert products, descriptions, etc.

Once the ecommerce site was up and running and as our client was adding products, it was time to work on the design. We started off by building their logo design. We started with sketches, made a few mockups and then made the final logo in vector via Adobe Illustrator. The logo would be used on caps, shirts and signs in addition to the website. We then built a custom template for the site using a color scheme suggested by the client.

After the site was tested and approved for launch, it was time for the online marketing side. We knew that achieving decent organic ranking would take a little time with a new site, especially with the amount of national competition in their industry. We did keyword and competition analysis to define the best key phrases to target based on volume of searches, competitiveness and profit margin. After doing this, we built a Google pay per click campaign targeting those keywords.

"When we made the decision to have an online store we didn’t know where to begin. We started looking at other websites we liked and found out who had built those sites. That is how we came across Lubbock Internet. Cody and his staff jumped right in and provided the solution to what we needed to build and operate our online store. They designed the logo for our branding as well. We could not be more pleased. It far exceeded our expectations! The whole team is great to work with, when there is a problem, which is very rare, or when we have a question, which is very frequent, they get right on it and things are taken care of."
